Portal CMS - Promotional Website

I decided to make a standalone website for Portal CMS; the technology I wrote to sit behind this website and many others. Why not take a look and see what its about?

I have been continuing to develop Portal CMS the new technology behind this website.

I built Portal CMS to give me the ability to do two key things interchangeably.

  1. To be able to build an entire website quickly and easily and without having to develop any code.

  2. To provide a stable framework to develop a website and not have to keep developing the same functionality every time - like authentication, profile management and blogging.

The technology has now become pretty mature and meets both of those two goals, so I wanted to open it up to see whether anybody else could make use of it too. To that end I recently made it open source on GitHub and have now created a standalone website to promote it.

The entire promotional website was created using out of the box Portal CMS, no development was done on it. I just deployed the repository directly from GitHub to an Azure App and built it online in the Page Builder.

I am not expecting it to be taken up by many people because there are a lot of better known alternatives around like WordPress, Orchard CMS, Concrete5 for developers and websites like Wix for non technical people.

Regardless though, it will help me to ship some of the ideas I come up with frequently and serve a useful position in my portfolio. A lot of the time my personal projects never get completed because of the amount of time it can take to develop a website well, but with Portal CMS I am hoping for that time to be significantly reduced which means you are likely to see lots more projects being posted up in future with Portal CMS acting as the framework.

If you are interested, why not take a look at the standalone site and see what Portal CMS does? The website shows off some of the best features, shows video demonstrations of how it works and provides easy ways to get started in using it.

You can see the website at www.portalcms.online
